A signed table looks like this:
They are not meant to be any type of additional security as DB mentioned as well. You can literally just remove the entire <Signature> block from the table and it will work fine. It'll just remove the signed by part at the bottom of CE's window. For general public use it helps show who made the table in a more clear manner. In a more ripper/stealing world as we have today it has little to no purpose in terms of helping prevent things being stolen.
It's just a nice added touch to tables. The whole process on how the signature is read is within CE's source. But since its using a public/private key pair signing system, normal users have no way to really make their own keys on their own since the private key is not known. You could just edit CE to use your own personal key stuff instead to get the same results though. _________________
