So, I wanted to write ASCII to memory to a game. I had to convert hexadecimal values to decimal to have them work with the writeBytes format. is there a way I can use hex values instead of integer values? Also, I know I can use writeString, but I have to use 00 after each letter and occasionally use special characters.

yes, use 0x.

e.g 01acdd would be writeBytes(address,{0x01,0xac,0xdd})

and you can always use a memrec
