|
|
Basically tweeted about it already (can't post URLs though because I'm not deemed worthy enough though)
So I was trying to do a pointer scan for a game and it worked fine.. up until the point where I got the final window - it said it found 0 pointers.
I've changed the level and offset in the pointer scan, and I DEFINITELY saw that results were found - yet in the final window I was greeted with 0 pointers again.
I thought that maybe a new version could've messed up something in regards to pointer scanning, so I downgraded to 6.5. I remembered it was working fine there.
So yea, 6.5 couldn't even create the files (see attachment because I can't even embed an image).
TL;DR:
CE 6.7 creates the pointer files just fine if the path contains unicode characters, such as Japanese letters.
Afterwards, it's not able to read the files properly anymore though.[/i]

hmm, i'll look into it.
as a temp fix: copy the .ptr and .ptr.* filed to another location and see if you can open that
(6.6 and 6.7 do a filescan for .ptr.* in the folder instead of keeping a fixed list, likely something wrong there)

Hey, thanks for the quick response!
Yea, I've managed to use the pointer scan in both CE 6.5 and 6.7 when I changed the path in which it should store the .ptr and .ptr.* files in to one without Japanese characters
