Is it possible to simulate a key being pressed ingame just with an AA script?
I found only threads the other way around (checking a keypress) or using the LUA doKeyPress similar to sendmessage which both do not work in most modern DirectX games.

It's possible. You may have to call the sub-routine that handles that, though. You can back-trace after finding the instruction that 'checks for pressed', or, use ultimap.
You may also be able to simply call some windows functions...I've not tried that for key simulation, though.

Ultimap doesn't work for me (I'm using intel processor but it has 6 cores and although dbvm claims to be available it causes a freeze/bluescreen).
I was looking for a (windows) API solution I've going to call like GetAsyncKeyState but I think DirectX don't use any Windows API to check if a key is being pressed at all.

You've tried both versions of ultimap, presumably?
If the target is 32bit, you can try CDA - Code Dynamic Analysis, as a possible alternative to ultimap.
But, yes, a simple windows call should work...I've just never tried it. Maybe someone with experience with that can chime in.

Yes, it only works without dbvm on Intel 5/6 or newer generation as far as I know and these processors are only supported by Windows 10 so they are very new.
I'll take a look at the CDA tool, thank you.

those cpu's also work on win7, don't let microsoft bully you into thinking they don't
it's even better to use it in an older version so the chance the OS interferes with it is smaller(what the OS doesn't know about it can't fuck up)
but yeah, you do need the intel 5/6 gen cpu
