|
|
I know this has kinda been answered a million times... but I want to be absolutely sure before I end my game's process and exit CE.
The green addresses ARE static and that means they WILL be the same the next time I launch the game, correct?
So I don't need to go digging for pointers or anything if everything I want to change has a green address, correct?
Many thanks for any help, I'm afraid to shut my work down before I know for sure... it's taken me days to find what I need.
Oh, and in case it isn't obvious... I'm (almost) completely new to this.
EDIT:
Nevermind. My game crashed during further testing and I was forced to answer my own question.
Turns out they do (as everyone said) stick around. I was little worried because my statics aren't pointers, they're direct values... but apparently it doesn't matter.
Sorry for the paranoia.

Instead of relying on colors, understand what they actually mean. If it is a unity/generating data on the fly game you can be sure the code will move next launch. If its a non-unity normal game, the code will stay where it is upon next launch.
Look at the addresses too, game.exe+offset is going to be static while just an address without any module info means its generated/located outside the exe and so will likely move.
Code inside dll moves depending on if the base address of dll changes but since ce shows/uses dll.dll+offset and take cares of grabbing the base, the user is oblivious to this. Used to be a big headache in the old days and called codeshifting
