UCE is "Undetected Cheat Engine" build. A version of CE that has been changed so much that current anti cheat software doesn't recognize it anymore |
That wouldn't surprise me, but I still doubt it's a reality. Through services.msc you should be able to disable updates, and malware could just block all the writing of files to Windows Update's temp dirs. I don't know if Microsoft did anything different in Windows 10, but in theory that would work. They'd definitely work in older versions of Windows. That said, it's incredibly inconvenient and opens up security risks, so why bother?
Another thing: Microsoft does obfuscate Patchguard as a general anti-reversing technique. Unfortunately >:(
But still, congratulations on being so fast at breaking MS's security, if not completely. We all really appreciate the mindblowing amount of work of both you and the community you've allowed for.
Have you considered using something like Patreon to accept donations for Cheat Engine?

Perhaps you didn't copy the .sig file ? (the driver will refuse to load it if the signature doesn't match)
Could also be you changed the password and for some reason ce doesn't know it and therefore doesn't recognize it's running

Fresh install of 6.4 with the fix, and I got this.
The "I dont know what you did, but you didn't crash, and dbvm didnt start"
Tried it again, gave me the bluescreen with a frowny face.
The error was "clock_watchdog_timeout"

Go into your CMOS setup, and make sure no more than 3 CPU cores are enabled. And turn off hyperthreading if the option is there.

Did you wait at least 30 seconds between trying again? (in case one of the cpu's tried to launch dbvm twice, and the one tested for dbvm got skipped. If that's the case, you should have gotten a BSOD after a while as the cpu would timeout)

h.ttp://cheatengine.org/temp/dbvm9.rar
Just extract these files over the ones in the cheat engine installation folder |

"I dont know what you did, but you didn't crash, and dbvm didnt start"
I had this situation but changed to 3 cores and no hyperthreading in bios (as flarn2006 suggested). Tried again and had the same thing. I copied the signature file again overwriting it then it worked. I originally copied the version 9 signature file and the first time I tried to load I think I got bsod. Maybe something changed the signature file before or after that?
