DBVM freezes up my sytem

How do I cheat?

When i start dbvm (using about page) then my computer freezes, before it freezes i do get the DBK64 Loaded message.

My specs:
Windows 8.1 pro (x64)
16 GB 1600mhz RAM
I5- 4460 clocked at 3.2 stock
MSI R9 270x 2gb gaming edition

My pc just freezes, no BSOD.
My cpu does support intel vt-d, though i cant find it in the bios settings.
