I have posted messages here before on this subject. In step 3 I am supposed to use "unknown initial value", but this option does not appear in the drop down list. Decreased value does. Unknown initial value will appear in a different version of the drop down list, but I can't find out what I did to get that other version of the drop down list. I need help with this missing version or the unknown initial value option. Cheat engine is of no use to me if I can't get through the tutorial because of this elusive option.

Make sure it's your first scan (initial value). In other words, there are two buttons above the text/search box, the one on the right says 'Next Scan', and the one on the left will either say 'First Scan' or 'New Scan'. If it says 'New Scan', then you need to click it so that you are actually doing a 'First Scan'.

Select Tutorial Process --> Scan Type : Unknown initial value
--> Value type : 4 bytes
after doing the first scan Click on hit me and then scan type --> Decreased
then click next scan, and repeat repeat till u find 1 or more addresses
