Trying to make a bot for a very simple game: One Finger Death Punch. I have it working (mostly) except that I have to manually find the initial value every time i want to run it.
As far as i can tell, i can find 1 value that shows when an enemy is nearby with a 0 or a 1, then there is another value that is a 0 on the left and 1 on the right.
Very simple. Check those values, send a key press, voila!
so my problem comes when I am trying to find the pointer. If i select "What accesses this value" i get several entries that seem to temporarily change the value. It does 3 xors then some fstr commands. Trying to follow the pointer, searching for the address value, nothing shows. Every now and then (Clicking new, first scan several times) I get a single value that leads nowhere.
Is the game setup to deliberately make this difficult?

Yes, this is possible.
You may use code injection to access your value. Create a code cave in the games process, write the value from your interesting address to CodeCaveAddress+YourOwnOffset and from there you can easy read the value.
You may also use the CE Pointer Scanner. It's a very powerful tool to determine static base pointers and the full pointer chain.

Not familiar with a code cave. I'll do some research on that.
And i've tried the pointer scanner as well. First run finds tons of results, and last time i tried, the second pass found nothing. I'll make sure I'm doing that correctly, but any advice you have would be fantastic!
Edit: Just tried to use the pointerscan. First result showed 6 items. All from steam2.dll. When i re-opened the game, all the pointers turned out to be useless. So I'm kind of stumped, but i'll keep looking into it.
