Why is it that in select few games if the game crashes while CE is attached to it it causes windows to become unresponsive? I can still use a web browser if its loaded but all windows featuers are frozen. I can't alt tab, use the start bar, or even open task manager. There have been rare ocasions where i can close CE and the game and everything goes back to normal. Any idea why this happens and if there is a way to prevent it?

Assuming you're not using the kernelmode debugger this might be a graphics driver bug
Are they extremely old games ? (E.g. dx 5?)

Does the game do low level communication with the gpu? (E.g. mantle)

Try creating a hotkey in lua that when called executes detachIfPossible() or closeCE() and see if that helps

It is also windows specific. If you are using older versions of windows then they are more prone to becoming totally unusable requiring a restart.

Windows 8 is easily recoverable as you can still bring task manager most of the times.

I'm on windows 7 and it's bioshock infinite. Im not using kernalmode. Same thing happened on windows and VEH. Graphics drivers are the latest nvidia. I can try the hotkey thing though.

I've used CE6.3+ and CE6.4 on bioshock infinite under windows 7. I didn't have problems you mentioned. Are you using original or "other version". If "other", try different EMU.

Official steam version. Debugger doesnt even have to be used for this to happen either.
