Hi,

I developed a game with a small team and I'm trying to educate myself on some technical points.

I saw some games which use a heading coefficient between 0 and [-1, 1]
the trick I don't understand is why have to the east and west are 0.7 instead of 0.5.

example :
North : +1(right) or -1(left)
South : 0
East : + 0.7
West : - 0.7

how do they manage to convert this into degrees ?

Perhaps they are using radians:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radian

You can convert radians to degrees easily. (And vise-versa.)

radians = degrees / ( 180 / PI )
degrees = radians * ( 180 / PI )
