Someone on my site have reported a problem:
http://www.szemelyesintegracio.hu/cheats/41-game-hacking-articles/216-cheat-engine-6-features
Quote: | percentage scan and compare to saved scan not working for me ..
tested with NFS11 with Nitro ,,
As you know nitro = 100 Float ..
So,
1- an unknown initial value scan
2- loose some i get 81.099...etc
3- Compare to first scan then Value between...", check then mark at % box
4- type in 79 - 83 next scan
I get Error Title, Then Scan error:
I'm using 32 Bit Ver |
Quote: | No at all my pc fine 500G HDDx2 4G ram Intel core 2 due ...
it's work fine with CE tut, but no with my games i did tray it with health, ammo ... etc in many games (NFS11, Metro 2033, Splinter Cell Conviction).
i'll try to figure out what is wrong with cheat engine maybe there is a different between 32/64 Bit .
something like VEH debugger i can't use it at the first, till i change it in 32bit, then it's work fine with CE or CE 32Bit.
btw, VEH debugger work like a charme. |
I could reproduce it with Need for Speed 11 on my computer too. I don't know why, it is working with other games. Anyone has Metro 2033 and Splinter Cell Conviction to try it? Or any other games where this may occur?
I start a scan, then when I try to use the percentage scan, it gives me an Error window with this error:
Nothing more. No idea at the moment why.
EDIT:
NFS11 takes up almost 900 MB in the memory so it is probably related to the size of the process. _________________

No, the scan is aborted by the error.
It will be something with the size. Because if I do this, it is working.
1. Search for Float 100 when I have full nitro.
2. Use nitro.
3. Percentage scan.
But it is not working if I use unknown value. Even if I use fast scan. And the guy who reported say He has 2x500 GB HDD. I guess there is enough free space. _________________

Ok, btw this game is eating my memory for breakfast. So it can be the cause of this error. _________________

most likely yes. Unknown initial value scans save all the memory, and when doing a compare against it it will allocate as much memory as the game itself has, and then add to that the addresses of the values it finds (8 bytes per address found)
so either try a smaller region, do something to get way less results, or switch to 64-bit and have a lot of ram _________________

I have found another small thing.
I have changed the folder where the scan files should be saved.
I have created this folder.
C:\ce_temp
So I have choosen this folder in CE (automatically with the browser window) and it has filled out the field this way:
C:\ce_temp
Then I have noticed that when doing a scan, CE is storing the temp files in this folder:
C:\ce_tempCheatEngine
I thought it's problem is a missing \ from the end so I have added it like this in the settings:
C:\ce_temp\
And now they are saved correctly here:
C:\ce_temp\Cheat Engine
So CE should add the missing \ automatically at the end of the path.
EDIT:
And yeah, it is just the memory. If I narrow down the search range, it is working fine. _________________
