This is a guide to making Mozilla Firefox up to 150x+ faster, the + indicates it can be up to 1,000,000 times faster

First you want to download Mozilla Firefox, if you don't have it you are an Internet Explorer loser, Mozilla kicks IE's ASS!!

2. Type in the address bar : about:config
It will open you to the setting as so...

3. Find from the configurations "network.http.pipelining" and set it to 'true' by double clicking it.

4. The next is to change "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests", this is the amount of tunnels or requests sent to the site you are viewing, double click the name and set the integer to however high you want, I have it set to 280, what means it makes 150 requests, so it is 150x faster!

(The more tunnels you use the faster you go but the more bandwith you use, meaning you use a billion tunnels but that would probably kill the sites bandwith if everyone did that. You alone doing that would be a bitch for them!)

5. Next you have to change "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to 'true', it is naturally set to 'false'

6. Then find network.prefetch-next, it is set to 'true' but we want it to 'false', so set it to 'false', why was it true? When you do a Google search and you search for pie or something, it automatically pre-downloads the first link, even if you don't even visit the first link, so it download's some crap you don't maybe even need, and that slows firefox down.

7. Then you have to install the Fasterfox plugin for Mozilla Firefox
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1269
This makes some tweaks to improve Mozilla's performance

Credits go to NeCiFiX

+Rep if you like it

EDIT: added new step, added poll

It doesn't multiply like that. It's how many requests is being sent to the server, and it won't make the server work any faster.

Yes, there is a somewhat noticeable speed boost from this trick.

It's not really appropriate to set maxrequests to such a high number, make it 8 and it'll be good. There's no point in speeding up your browser - but slowing down your internet. Wink
